Last night, Senator Katie Britt gave the Republican "response" to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address.
Senator Britt is the current state of the devolution of so-called "Reagan conservatives" into MAGA Trump-cultists. In terms of policy, they stand for the same things and share the same worldview. In terms of politics, Trump made it safe for the Reagan conservatives to say what they really think. We are glad the charade is over.
The Reagan conservatives were embarrassed to voice their true feelings and thoughts. That is why Trump is so valuable to them . The charade is no longer necessary as the Trump Era also ended embarrassment.
"Polarization" is, simply, how things feel in the U.S., post-charade.
